The Lighted Journey Poem by Hollie Bedford

The Lighted Journey

Rating: 5.0

I was wandering through thought,
Time standing still,
All senses blending into one.
When I found my feet treading through paths unfound,
Where thoughts wandered,
And broke of into little spirals of understanding,
Drifting into thousands of questions,
And millions of answers;

I could spend all day,
Trying to fathom these tides of understanding,
To lift the snow blanket on these lines of such complexity.
But my feet carried me on,
My mind willing against my physical self,
No,
Against something else,
The part that was doing the thinking,
And as I thought of this,
I let myself be led on.

I saw as I walked the light,
Glancing through the gaps in the dense canopy,
Blasting through, searing my eyes,
Showing these conscious drifts of material,
Moving with such purpose,
They were on a mission, a purposeful journey,
And I was to,
A journey to understanding,
To have the knowledge, of life, of love,
And most importantly of myself.
