The Line Poem by Frank James Ryan Jr...fjr

The Line

Sometimes in Life we must take a stand,
after burning our sacrificial lambs,
when it's time to strike that proverbial Line-
for what we believe in, for our own self respect,
when others cannot find it within themselves
to swallow their hubris and embrace what they need.

Perhaps such ego has weakened the Heart and Soul,
thus affording hubris to supersede seeds
that love had planted some years ago...
Alas, many years far too late now...
so soldier on we must, and we shall,
'til we find and strike that proverbial line.
