The Little Lives Of Animals Poem by Sheena Blackhall

The Little Lives Of Animals

Rating: 4.5

Like toys with which we play
They must obey our will,
Sit, beg, come, go away

When clouds are chill and grey,
Snow pads the window sill,
They hang on all we say

Will we be kind today?
Will we their needs fulfil?
They're faithful, won't betray

Some pets are dumped to stray
Abandoned, unfed, ill
Pets are not for one day

Females we dock and spay
We neuter males until,
They do not scent or spray

A walk's their rationed thrill
In park or wood to play:
On beach orfield or hill,
We order, they obey.
