The Lonely Hearted Young Man Poem by Benjamin Hallas

The Lonely Hearted Young Man

His feeling
of loneliness
seems to kill him
seems to
kill him

He yearns

For the
romantic contact
of a lover

And her
caring kiss

He wants
to hold her
in his arms

To play
with her hair

While laying
in the sunlight

To stroke
her cheek

And when she
looks up

Taste her lips
with his

His heart
has been broken
and
glued back together

Like a vase
that has
been broken repeatedly

When he sees
couples holding hands
it makes
him sick

He wishes
he has that

But loneliness
is his
only companion
