The Long Song Of My Own Sadness Poem by Shalom Freedman

The Long Song Of My Own Sadness

THE LONG SONG OF MY OWN SADNESS

The long song of my own sadness
Plays within me
In constant contradiction
To the Joy and Love and Praise
I hear within myself some times-

We are dreams
Who have forgotten to be woken
Nightmares we in waking
Try to escape-

Lost universes
Never at home
Longing for home
Coming home
Always home.
