The Longer We Live Poem by Francis Duggan

The Longer We Live

The longer we live 'tis said often the sooner we are going to die
And do enjoy life if you can do but never defame cheat or lie
For if you sow the seeds of bad karma what you sow you must reap one day
You sow weeds a crop of weeds you get we reap what we sow one might say,
To cheat and lie to some comes easy from the poor they even do steal
Far too many narcissistic people feelings for themselves they only feel
Still the good outnumber the not so good by many so many good people out there
Who go out of their way to help out others of the workings of karma they are quite aware,
Some people are very self centred they only think of their own need
The more they have the more they crave for they are consumed by their own greed
Yet their hearts of kindness are empty for themselves they only do care
They know how to take but not to give and they don't even know how to share
And the longer we live as seems obvious the sooner we are going to die
And enjoy your life if you can do but never libel, cheat or lie.
