The Look Poem by Deluke Muwanigwa

The Look

When next you see Deluke
Tell him he's got the look
Always behaving the gentleman
Swimming down the gentle Maine

The look

Deluke the Negro thought he had the look
People knew he was an African crook
He loved Africa
Lived in Jamaica
Read African history in the wrong book

The look

T-he most important thing is the soul
H-aving a personality most foul
E-rases all that a face belies
L-ooks can give butterflies
O-n no account should you be fooled
O-ne may be extremely good looking
K-now that beauty is not in the look
