The Lord's Garden Poem by Luke Easter

The Lord's Garden

Love begins as a seed that forms from a pod,
Cultivated and nurtured by Almighty God,
Then He places His seed very gently within,
Those sweet humble hearts that He's found among men.

While attending to His garden of love;
Sending down the sunshine and rain from above,
He pulls out the weeds, then takes up the snares,
And nothing unloving is allowed to grow there.

I once had a garden when I lived in another town,
I wanted someone to care but no one was around,
All the tomatoes, corn, mushrooms, peppers and such,
Without constant water, love, it never amounted to much.

Thankfully that’s not the case with the garden of Christ,
Under His watchful eye seeds sprout forth eternal life,
Soon the day will arrive and His Kingdom will come,
Don’t forget, not my will but Thy will be done.

Planted as a flower don’t attempt to be a beet,
If your seed is bitter why try to be sweet?
Made into a vegetable stop thinking meat,
God’s grace is sufficient in times you are weak.

You didn’t plant yourself; it’s not how you want to grow,
Still always perform at your highest level so,
When the Father calls for the harvest to take place,
You’ll be sure to receive His best divine favor and grace.

Many are planted yet only a few bear crops to eat,
Yielding plentiful for a healthy nourishing treat,
When you don’t allow the word to water you everyday,
Remember the fig tree Jesus caused to whither away?

By the way, it’s impossible to partake of the fruit,
While doubt and unbelief are destroying the root,
As it had nothing edible Jesus cursed the fig tree,
Only thing left the next day were withered leaves.

Many people toil in the garden for countless hours,
Through love they produce many beautiful flowers,
Similarly for those who feel there is no urgent need,
Fail to plant in the garden and you will grow weeds.

Become strong in the garden knowing you’re never alone,
Even though there are times when you feel on your own,
The Lord is in charge, that's all you need to know,
God planted your seed, He will cause you to grow.
