The Lord's Prayer And Comentary Part Two Of Three.

Rating: 5.0

"Our Father which art is heaven.
Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom
Come. Your will be done on earth as it is
In heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our
Debtors. And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil. Foryours is the
Kingdom, and the power and the glory forever. A-Men.
(Mathew Chapter 6: 9-12)

Commentary by Roxanne Lea Dubarry

In review and further explanation: Our heavenly Father both resides in and rules heaven. His name is holy and is worthy of: worship, honor, respect and glory. It is not under any circumstances to be taken in vain.It also means to use carelessly! Not just as a curse or a swear word! We would like it if our names were being cursed instead. "You shall not take the name of the Lord in vain, " is from the original Ten commandments.

Giving us this day our daily bread. We need to be both thankful and appreciative God loves to provide for his people. He will not forsake his special children.

"And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors."

Means just preciously what it says. We are to both forgive, and make restitution if it is required. In order for God to be willing to forgive us. It does not mean letting yourself or loved ones beings abused by domestic and/or sexual violence. It does not mean people are free to abuse and malign you. It does mean asking God for his will to be done. It does mean reconciliation if possible and feasible. But as they spoke evil of him, so they will speak evil against you!

"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."

God knows we will fall into temptation. He may not always keep us from it.But he faithfully promises to keep us through it. He also promises deliverance from it. An expanded version would be, "deliver us from the evil one." Who is the evil one? Satan is God's adversary and ours as well. The devil is the same one who tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden. And he has had centuries to practice his crafts. He is famous for his webs of deceitfulness and lies!

"For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. A-Men."

Jesus Christ closes his prayer with special acknowledgement to his heavenly father and ours as well. "The Kingdoms of the earth have become the kingdoms of the Lord."He has both the power and glory, and will have it forever more! A-Men means completion, and let it be so. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but his word will never pass away.Part three deals with the 23rd Psalm of David.

Love in Christ Jesus!

Our father of heaven, our God is very merciful and we receive his bless continuously. He saves us from all dangers hearing our prayer. Jesus Christ closes his prayer with special acknowledgement to his heavenly father. God knows that we fall into temptation but he saves us time to time. This is an excellent poem very well penned...10
