The Lost Poem by Kira Musick

The Lost

Rating: 5.0

The memories were like little snowflakes,
all different
all fading fast.
Some happy
some in pain,
some filled with love,
and some hate.

My mind is blank.
I have seen the pain
I have seen the hate.
They all have died
They are no more
But they were once someone. Maybe a cat
maybe a dog
maybe a bird
maybe a frog
maybe they were like you and me
maybe they were family
maybe they were alone.

Their screams showed pain
their laughs fill hearts
the things we had lost,
they now have gained
maybe it's a tought
we all have lost
we all have loved,
we're all the same
but not alike at all.
We all want the same thing
we're all going after in different ways
some take the high road
others the low
some will do anything
even sell their soul.
The world seems to fade
The colors of my soul turn to gray Happy days now dance away.
Now only the dust.
The dust of Lost days.
Now they hide.
They hide from the truth
They hide from me
And they hide from you.
They crower
In ponder
Their waiting for tomorrow
they're waiting.
they're waiting.
They want me to break
Their tugging
Their Pulling
And scratching
I'm trying
I'm trying
I can't make it here.
They have got me
I've lost.
I'm done
And I'm gone
Now I hang my head in shame

They whisper
They shout
They call me out
They talk
what about
How I have lost
My battle to life
They see my scratches
They see my scars
My burns
My faults.
As I lay
They start
To say
She's to far gone.
She needs to stay.
I have lost her.
She is worth nothing more.
She needs to stay.
