The Lost - Poem by Derrick Gwynn

At the end of the fight
When your heart beats no more
You feel your soul crawl out of your body
And is released from your core
No more do you survive or are known as a life alive
You feel like a soldier left to die
In a unending fight

So you are left to cry
In the night
As you are surrounded in fright

All you want to see is a speck of light
And be able to release your lust and fright
Then finally become free of this nightmare that has become your life

This poem nearly has me in tears! I know how this feels, to live a life in darkness and not know how to change that. Keep writing such amazing and emotional poetry! ! (Report) Reply
