The Lost Rose Poem by Hossein Gharibi

The Lost Rose

I had a flower, cared for, fed
Whose odor would rise a dead
I did wrong to leaves of it
With no single sense of wit

That was mine among all those
Yet no awareness in me rose
Did not claim it, not in expose
Was not mine, not even close

My love was vague, mystified
But my pain was justified
All the water in the meadows
Was only meant for my rose
