The Love From Afar: A Reply Poem by Eve Brideau

The Love From Afar: A Reply

(10.01.09 2246H)

It has been five years,
A long time since you wrote.
And after all these tears,
'Twas now that I took note.

Never loved you before,
I never knew you as well.
But it's you, now, whom I adore.
Could it be forever? Time will tell.

I knew for a fact we'd never be
Together, at least in this reality.
But in fantasy, cheesy it may be,
We would last, you and me.

So, to you, I bid adieu,
And I'll end this with a line from you.
'The only thing that I could do
Is take a glance far away from you.'

I think every man in the world is looking for a Genevieve Brideau.
