The Love I Could Never Have Poem by Joy Austen

The Love I Could Never Have

You are the wind I feel but cannot see
You are the sun that warms me but beyond reach
Your waves touch my heart and brought it to your sea
You are the love I could never have.
Your metaphorical compositions captured my soul
But when poems have audiences, yours is not me
I read between lines hoping to trace my resemblance
And you are the love I could never have.
It broke me everyday when you're near
For despite your closeness I chill in your blank stares
You smile, I shatter, knowing it isn't for me
You are the love I could never have.
My mind says stop but can I stop my heart from beating?
For doing so would mean dying
So I'll choose to be blind and dumb for a while
'Coz for now you are the One I could ever love.
