The Lovers' Meeting Poem by Dipankar Sadhukhan

The Lovers' Meeting

Rating: 5.0

Since the late evening
Under the starry sky I've been waiting.
Does it really matter to me
If I wait for my beloved for hours or
Pass the autumnal night so silently?
To a true lover his Love is everything
And he can do everything for her.

Carrying dense and white vapour,
Higher and higher, the clouds float
Over the valley and the mountain;
Wearilessly the gentle wind blows now.
Distance can never confine my beloved.
Her words are now coming to my ears;
Untired I am, to whisper to my Love.
Ready I am, to witness the blissful moment -
Yonder, my Love is there to meet me at dawn.
