The Lust For Power Poem by Francis Duggan

The Lust For Power

Rating: 3.8

For eleven years Prime Minister of the Nation and yet to power he desperately does cling
The lust for power is an extreme addiction and such addictions are not a good thing
You won't hear many say that he is special and you won't hear many say that he is great
Election day with every hour is nearing and the voting public will decide his fate
The opposition leader for power just as greedy suppose some people they are born that way
Ambiguous in their words putting it mildly a fool would only believe everything they say
The people elected into high office said to reflect majority thinking society for that is the poorer if this be true
Some of our elected representatives are our karma and the karma we receive is what we are due
The Prime Minister a small man with a huge ego how can such a person know of such great success?
It says it all about the voting public many people are not that hard to impress
We hear that the economy is booming yet there's a rise in inequality
And the wealthy sad to say are getting wealthier and the poor going deeper into poverty
And the Prime Minister of the Nation looking worried to power he desperately does want to cling
The lust for power is an extreme addiction and such addictions are not a healthy thing.
