The Lying Tongue Poem by Edgar James Momoh

The Lying Tongue

He speaks out of both sides of his mouth
Flicking his tongue like a viper
As he tell tales of deception
That hits with precision
Like a sniper's bullet

He uses sugar coated words to win hearts
That have no suspicion of his intention
As he tell tales of deception
That in the end hurts
Like a scorpion's sting

He savors his words with lies to win favor
By destroying the reputation of others
As he tell tales of deception
That wounds deep
Like a double edged sword

'There are six things the Lord hates
Seven that are detestable to him...'
A lying tongue is one of them
And the place of all liars
Is the lake of fire
