Oh mirror... Why can’t you lie? Why don’t you tell me that I am the fairest fair of all? Why don’t you tell me that I am the smartest head of all? Why don’t you let me stand proud and tall? Marwa..I like your poem..Yuor employment of the mirror has many meaning. It alludes to the fairy tales of girls who look at the mirror to assert themselves as the beautiful ever among others. From the fairy tale, this poem comes to reveal the simple fact that we are those who make these images in the mirror, what the psychologists call'projection'. The persona in the poem moves in a journey from the poor self-esteem and the weakness that results from the conflicts in life to a more stronger one that know for sure that she is pretty, the rhetorical questins at the end prove that. In addition, I like the sense of melcaholy for the passage of time, it is a typically Romantic feature. I really like it.
