The Man Poem by Emmanuel Joseph Olumakiss

The Man

This is the man that has shot us without a gun
The one that has deceived us with the tongue
The one on a chameleon gown
Calamitous is the thing he has done
He has made the eyes afraid of sleep
He has made it hard for the mouth to feed
The innocent he has turned to thief
The accused he has chosen to make free
This is the man that refused we remain at ease
The one that has stolen away our peace
We were once enticed by the sermon he preach
Not knowing he is worse than a beast
This is the man that has brought us so much grief
Our laughter he has chosen to stiff
Our loved ones he has jailed unappeal
Our belongings he has ironically seized.
