The Man I Miss Poem by Phoenix1 Smith

The Man I Miss

I never ever said anything to hurt her
kept silent while she was bragging...
need to listen, every word she tells me
I must be composed, I must be quiet
must be undisturbed, mustn't hurt her..

I read all the messages she has sent me
how he told her how much he loves her..
how he would beg for her to take him back
how he'd everyday greet her in the morning
how he would always bid her goodnight...

I would listen to all her almost animated,
love story of her life, while I was sobbing
because I miss so much my dear darling
forced to listen though my heart's breaking

she must not know that I am weeping
while she was telling me all these things
truth that's hurting me, she have no inkling
the man professing to her a love unending
is the man I miss, my sweetest dear darling...
