The Cruel Crow Poem by Phoenix1 Smith

The Cruel Crow

Wish I may, wish I might
find my true love tonight
I've always wish upon a star
though I know they're so far

love I want that's hard to find
even if it gives a love so blind
enthralled by flickering lights
different colors all so bright

in lonely nights I tried to seek
star to gift my hearts so weak
this wish I have may be bleak
but desire has reached its peak..

suddenly a crow made a sneak
scary eyes with wobbling beak
into my room it took a peek
in creepy voice it dare speak:

'you can't wish upon that thing
even forever you'll be waiting
those stars have been dead
more than billion years ahead'

lights they have been emitting
been million years in sending
better find another sure way
perhaps to fly into a nebulae

cruel crow ruined my dream
to ugly bird I want to scream
turned to it and angrily said:
'care not if all stars are dead,
I will continue to wish instead
till time I'll meet my beloved'
