The Man Who Fits This Jacket Poem by Kelly Boutin

The Man Who Fits This Jacket

The princess said she'd find a man.
The king said she better.
The Princess said she'd find a man.
The jester laughed.

The jester stirred a plan, (when the king was away.)
The jester stirred a plan, to help her find a man.

He gave her a leather jacket.
He said, "You'll find your love."
He gave her a leather jacket.
He said, "Find the one who fits it."

The princess searched the gardens, the castles and resorts.
The princess searched the gardens.
Then she searched the bars.

She met handsome princes, cobblers, and loners.
She met handsome princes, but none fit the jacket.

She journeyed down the valley, and searched among the village.
She journeyed down the valley, but no one there was worthy.

The princess began to give up hope; she thought the jester had tricked her.
The princess began to give up hope; she feared it was all a joke.

She took a ship to a far country.
The princess took a ship.
She took a ship to a far country.
And found her destiny.

The princess met a family, (a handsome man among them.)
The princess met a family, a family of gypsies.

She didn't give the man the jacket, she didn't even try.
She didn't give the man the jacket, she knew it wouldn't fit.

The princess tried the jacket, just to see,
She just had a feeling
The princess tried the jacket, just to see.
It fit perfectly.
