The Mind Poem by Noel Lorenz

The Mind

The human mind
Is a complex process.
It will let one
Beat the bosses.

That's why it is said
The students are;
Them wise say it,
Better than the teachers were.

We call them great
That use it right.
Others are thought
As lesser bright.

The ones who use it proper,
Sayest them that, err
It ain't that they were topper
But just that they did persevere.

The thought process starts
In the spur of a moment.
Then a chain reaction is started
Adding on moment after moment.

We think we are the masters
Of the world and all on it.
We think we can do anything, but
Alas! We can't even stop dying.

The world is here from unknown times.
The world we don't care still survives.
We think we are innovating, yes,
Innovating the means of ends.

Of life, we care;
Of animals, we don't.
What mind puts it there
That animals hath no right?

Is this education?
Is this civilization?
That some particular animals
Never make it home.

Now let's see mind
From the parenting aspect:
We care for our's
And still feel for other's.

Why not then we
Nurture a pure mind
That will care for
All the lives that come to mind.

Hath they no right,
Them we eat on holidays?
Hath only they life,
Them we try to save on hospital beds?

When? I ask you when?
When will come the day,
When man will respect them others?
Whom nature hath also given brothers, fathers and mothers.
