The Moon Should Have Not Talked Poem by Alnaver Baltazar

The Moon Should Have Not Talked

The moon should have not talked…
The moon should have just stayed happy and
contended providing its serene light every night.
But he risked saying his feelings.
But he risked falling in love.

He should have not talked!

The moon loved her more than he should.
He has loved her more than he expected.
He dreamed of the future that he knows will never come true.
Yet, it made him happy.
It made him alive.
And he believed in it.
Lest he has to pretend that everything is alright.
That everything is in place.

Now that the moon is getting too close to her,
He feared that she might get burned.
She might get blinded.
Or perhaps he might not want to leave anymore.

The moon has feared this day to come.
The moon always knew that this day will come.
But he fell in love.
What other choice does he have?
To believe in a dream that will never come true?
To pretend that things are alright and
be hurt for the rest of his life?
Or even worse to inflict deeper pain in her?

The moon should have followed his instinct.
The moon should have followed his experience.
He should have not let his guard gone lower that it should be.
He knew that he will lose her someday if he stayed too close.
But he failed.
He fell in love.
He should have not talked!

Now he is hurting more than she thinks he should.
The pain of losing her is so agonizing.
He has been crying for days.
And yet, he should and he must do what is right.

What he has now are just memories of the love he never felt before.
A love that inspired his soul.
A love that made him feel alive again.
And each memory he will keep as a treasure in his heart… forever.

The moon fell in love...
Yet, the moon should have not talked...

I really enjoyed this poem. The moon needs to remember all those happy moments and focus on the positive I think...and the moon...should always talk. Just my thoughts... Hugs, Dee
