The Paradox Of Love Poem by Alnaver Baltazar

The Paradox Of Love

Rating: 5.0

Love is like the horizon
You know it has an east and a west,
…and yet
You can’t tell where it starts, nor
Where it ends

Like the sweet fragrance of the morning dew
It embraces your body and refreshes your soul
Like the rain that softly kisses your cheeks
It keeps your heart warm inside, yet
Your body feels the cold.

Love as simple as it may seem
But it can be as complex as it will…

When you are beneath its charm…
You feel vulnerable, yet
You are self-contained
You feel the fear, yet
You feel secured
You feel uneasy, yet
You are confident.

You feel you’re weak, yet
You become stronger
You feel the longing, yet
You are happy.

Sometimes you get hurt
But the pain makes you want to love more
Sometimes you cry,
But the tears aren’t discounting the years of joys
…and the years of laughter

Love is as simple as it may sound
But as complex as it will
It is like the horizon
You know it has an east and a west,
…and yet
You can’t tell where it starts, nor
Where it ends

Wonderful verses. Deep description of love. Indeed, the irony of love.
