The Morning Fix Poem by Ray Hansell

The Morning Fix

Sitting in coffee shop
At a table by the door
Watching all the people
Keep coming in for more

This plays out every morning
All across the land
People need their coffee
So in a line they stand

Some want a cappuccino
Or maybe some hot tea
Or maybe just a mocha
The house blend works fine for me

People need their morning fix
Like a junkie in the night
They have to have that caffeine
So their day can start off right

As the work day wears on
They start to feel fatigue
They've thought about it for a while
Now they know just what they need

Another cup of coffee
Would help them on their way
No more tiredness or fatigue
As caffeine helps them finish their day
