The Munifence O Porkers(The Pigs That Go On Giving) Poem by Sheena Blackhall

The Munifence O Porkers(The Pigs That Go On Giving)

A nice bacon sandwich, sausage, pork chops
Blood, bones and beer, ham, bullets and sweets
Shampoo, body lotion, liquorice, ice cream
Wine gums and gelatine, other nice treats

Wines & fruit juices, leather for shoes
Butter & yoghurt,film, beauty creams
Pet food and medicines, painkillers too
Multivitamins, toothpaste, fat, fine tambourines

Some cigarettes use a pig's blood in their filters.
Bone glue and trotters, the snout's for dog eating
Tortilla wraps, powder that's used in explosives.
Pig ears are handy for chemical testing

On pigskin tattoo artists practice their craft
Insulin, heparin, heart valves, all good.
Field fertilizer, paint brushesand cork
Candles, paint, washing up powder, more food

In China, steamed pork, in East Enders, pork scratchings
Stewed trotters, Pig's ear salad, pork rind and knuckles
Paper and colouring, drugs for the eyes
Pig leather beltsthreading into brass buckles
