The beginning, a humble one
So much hope, so many dreams
It is so easy to dream
And hope…
A clear, prestigious degree
In fact,
A masters and a doctorate to follow suit
A well-paying job; a chauffeur-driven late model car;
A princess of a wife;
A mansion for a house;
Well-groomed, well-educated kids
And a German Shepard for a pet
But tomorrow is a mystery ever unsolved
Everything turns out wrong
To start with,
It's expensive to go through school
And jobs hide away and are hard to find
Even for those who tough or lucky enough
To be educated
And self-employment is a farce!
There is barely enough to sustain oneself
Let alone invest in business
One also has to do with an ordinary wife,
Since reality cannot sustain the dream-woman
The local school has to do for the kids
Even a local dog will do for a pet
Who could have thought that all the while one plotted
And dreamt,
The future that was reality, was in the hands of Another,
One who was the Best of Plotters!
Some do say, "Life is cruel".
