'The Nest' Poem by Pushpinder Kaur

'The Nest'

'The Nest'

The Creative force
Is a strength, an inspiration, a Saviour
A ray of hope, a drop of dew, a cool moon beam…

Ever walked through the
Silence of your rooms
Where silence and only silence reverberates?

The rooms, once filled with
Frolicking children, time for homework
Time for feeding children
Time…for swimming, music lessons
Checking weekly school Projects
Signing Reports…

All bargained by Time for
Silence…
The beginning of new Times

The old Nest
Not emptied but
Multiplied, quadrupled…

Remember the Silence
In the Older Nest of your Parents
And then your Nest…Now

When you stand
Closer to the end
Of the sixth decade-

Time seems a
Blessing
The Silence…a time for content, supplication and Gratitude
