The New Roman Umpire Poem by Richard Jarboe

The New Roman Umpire

There has always been a referee
Keeping a dirty game clean,
Playing by layers of rules,
Like a well oiled machine.

New days, New Umpire,
Same sizable pain
Empires may crumble
But the umpires remain.
