The Newborn Is No More Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

The Newborn Is No More

The newborn is no more
Monday.7th December 2020

I couldn't see fresh flower blossom
I thought never or rather seldom
that the flower shall never open
and taken back to heaven

it was my third child
like a rose, they found him
with lips so much red
and real fresh flower-they said

"You have a child, " brother wrote
both are good and in fine health
I prayed to god with good faith
and wished them peace with a calm breath

my happiness was short-lived,
after a few days, the sad message arrived
"newborn is no more"
it made me burst into tears

I prayed again
and wept with pain
why so much bad luck for a newborn?
he had not opened his eyes even

I was about to collapse
with so much of remorse
They gave me a temporary leave
to see my wife and little stay to live with her
