The Night Is Dark, My Monsignor Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

The Night Is Dark, My Monsignor

The night is dark, my Monsignor
So dark
So dark
Though dusk be ending still.
For
When nights be like this
Think
Think of thick midnight.

Then all the inhabitants of night
Shall wake
Shall move
And they shall be more friendly
More, my Monsignor,
Than inhabitants of day.
