The Oak Poem by Robert Gilchrist

The Oak

From the mighty oak
Structures of antiquity are wrought
Time stands still
Layers of substance
Deposited like slow moving molasses
Establish the foundations until
The craftsman applies his chisel
And axe
To expose the heartwood
And tell his story
In sap and sawdust.

It is an amazing poem that has been written beautifully but what is better is that it isn't just written for the sake of writing it feels like it has a true meaning to you and can be related to by many
