The Ocean Poem by Leonard Dabydeen

The Ocean

I
stand here
with bare feet
and folded arms
to watch you rush to shore and touch my feet.
Your horizon is so immense to view:
I ask myself
how can I
be like
you?

To be like the ocean? Perhaps to absorb all? Perhaps to offer inspiration? The ocean does much, if only we could pick and choose, no? Great poem, it made me think.
