The Old Tree Poem by manaswini dash

The Old Tree

I saw a tree-
an old, dry, leafless tree
looking like a silhouette
under the evening sky
standing on the roadside
with her dry branches spreading
As if inviting us
to her loneliness
to give her company
may be for a moment
so that she can feel
though she was deserted ruthlessly
by her dear leaves and flowers
in her old age
but still she has some friends
who cares and shows concern for her
and accept her invitation
even though
for a moment.
