The One Poem by Joyleen Heneker

The One

It’s been a couple of days now
Since you departed
I’ve heard no word from you
This has left me broken hearted

I almost feel used
For your enjoyment only
With words you’ve whispered to me
Which im thinking meant nothing to you?

You made me feel so special
Like I was the only one
You taught me that such love is possible
Which I’ve never felt this before

You rang or text me all the time
Told me how you felt
I was always to shy to tell you my thoughts
Then I got the guts and opened my heart to you

Since then there has been no words from you
No call, no text, not a sound
Since you promised me you wouldn’t run
Now it’s exactly what I feel you’ve done

I can’t eat nor sleep
You’re running hot in my brain
I sit up till late just waiting for your call
But no call so far from you

I feel so empty when I don’t speak of you
Knowing you so far away
In a ocean so dangerous and rough
Working for days straight

At night I look up at the stars
Thinking maybe you’re looking too
How much closer I feel when I see one so bright
How much closer I feel to you at night

I feel like a widow waiting for her husband to return
Though deep down inside me
I know it won’t happen
Im waiting for some thing that may never happen

Oh how I long for you,
To see you
To hold you and kiss you
To tell you to your face how much I really feel for you
How much it hurts to be in love with some one like you

A feeling I get when I speak and hear your amazing voice
The shivers you send right down my spine
When you whisper sweet nothings to me at dark.
The sickness I feel when we have to say goodbye..

Ill always be waiting for the day you are ready
The day ill be with you
The day where you will say I love you.
When you will say I am the one for you.

Though this day may never come
Ill never forget how long we have had our bond
How strong it grows over the years
Even though we rarely see each other

Our time will come
Where we are one
Together forever
Having so much fun

I love you
