The One I Love Poem by the Nickster

The One I Love

I don't know what this year will hold
But, I know who holds my hand
I am not sure what this month will bring
But, I know who brings the sunshine, rain and sleet

What if...I never meet him
What if...I never fill in the other side of my Family Tree-
I'll spend the rest of my life doing things that will make daddy proud:

I'll keep respecting my elders, neighbors and friends
I'll keep respecting myself throughout my end
I'll keep supporting the youth as best I can
they will be my children-if just for pretend
I'll keep on going no matter what
I'll refuse to give up-be content-or in a slump

I have a Father who has been there for me
Thirty-four years and not one birthday missed
He has never left me to fend for myself
He's been my protector-my hiding clef
Stands by me-to guide me when times get rough
I love Him, my Father, because He's so tough
When I bid farewell to this earthly place
I look forward to my Heavenly Father's embrace.
