The Only Anger I Feel Poem by Moth Harris

The Only Anger I Feel

I entrusted my heart to you
Can you blame me for how it's been
When you rend it time and time again
What message are you trying to send

So long ago I gave you my love
You decided you would burn it up
Why not set me on fire with it
and watch it burn
Well atleast that's how it seems to me now

You come back every now and then
To see if maybe I'll pretend
That it's not the end
Well my friend

This is the choice you made
a year and six months ago today
A choice not to stay, and I must say
It's worked out better for me in the end
What about you?

I still care about you in a friendly kind of way
even though I don't think about you every single day
The way that I used to
before you decided to be untrue

You wonder why I'm angry
You wonder why I don't care
You wonder what you can say to me
Now that I'm not there
Take a good look in the mirror
While you're ripping out your hair
Stare and tell me how lifes unfair
I'll tell you that I've been there before
