The Opening Rehearsal Poem by Randy McClave

The Opening Rehearsal

They noted a special word
Through a feeling it was first heard,
Then more words were added on
It then became a catalyst, a pawn.
They then danced and they did sing
The words were all amazing,
Then they moved to the rhythm and rhyme
All within their own motion and time.
Music was then added as well
Then it cast a hypnotic spell,
People then listened and they began to dance
They also praised and protested and took a stance.
Words then gave them all a thought
Music gave them the movement that they had sought,
It made them emotional and strong
Words and music then became a song.
Songs are used for peace and love and battle
Music opens the mind and soul to rattle,
And then when the two forces are combined
A person and a emotion is defined.
A song is then spiritually played
And a soul it is then forever swayed,
Music is universal
It is mankind's opening rehearsal.
