The Optimist Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

The Optimist

I know I am lost, she thought
But someday, I will find my shore
A small sheltered cove to anchor
A little piece of earth
To grow my roots
A little piece of land
To lay my bones

I know I am lost, she thought
And the sky remains overcast and grey
But the day is not far away
When that grey turns the bluest of blue
