(the) Out Of Touchables Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

(the) Out Of Touchables

Rating: 4.5

Clearly,
Born into an isolated reality.
Mentally detached.
Without a sign of being tethered,
To the rest of humanity.

The 'out of touchables' they are.
Affording materialistic dreams.
Residing and surrounded,
By things they worship and value.
More than believing,
Themselves as human beings.

The 'out of touchables'.
Selecting to elect,
Only those that represent...
Their interests to reflect them best.
With a defending to protect forever.
To enforce and endorse to permit,
An erosion of reality...
Promising to fade.
No longer to exist.

"How is that new telescope coming along?
When can we expect it,
To be ready for service? "

-Soon.
Why the rush? -

"The 'out of touchables'.
They have begun to do something,
Never before any of us have ever seen.
And they as threatening,
To do the unbelievable."

-And what could that possibly be?
Leave from our sight? -

"Yes."

-Are the taxpayers aware of this?
That is why they protest.
They want them gone.
Unable to detect.
The mess they've already left.
What a waste! -
