The Parting Poem by Maria J. Andrade

The Parting

Rating: 4.5

The river tells me
I need less now.
Its voice speaks to me.

“Do not be sad by separation.
See how I leave my beloved
the mountain,
only to return transformed.

Gently I embrace him in mist,
and together we rejoice,
sharing heart-felt stories of
what we learned in our parting.'

Amazing analogies between the ever-changing essence of rivers and the lesson to be learned from change and experience. Very nicely crafted.
