The Passion Of The Virtual Stranger Poem by June FeirCruz

The Passion Of The Virtual Stranger

You said I fell in love with a picture
Of a smiling face of a man, with perfect teeth and blue eyes.
But this 'face' is real person - he is a man and he has feelings
Just like you and I.
I try to get to know this image I have of you
At first my thoughts of you didn't synchronize.
You are so much more complex, unfathomable and slightly imperfect
Unlike that gorgeous man frozen in time.

I thought: 'I'd give it more time'
Get to know the man behind the facade of a beautiful face
And I found that this man is intelligent and strong
He has his own mind, unlike no other.
And as days and months go by
I love you even more
No one has ever driven me near insanity
Because of your obsession and passion.

I like that I have to be on my toes
But you love me near torture
One thing for sure:
There is no dull moment with you, ever.
But alas, my love
Beware of the thin line between passion and insanity
We want us to be together, don't we?
Not in an insane asylum - with our derrierres hanging
From those hospital gowns where everybody can see:

The crazy couple that is you and me.

I myself have been insane with love, and it seems that you are sometimes so infatuated with an idea of a person that you dont often see who they actually are. That is what I thought was coming thru in the first stanza. Good write
