The Past Forgotten, The Future Needs Change Poem by Daniel Parker

Far too long the world has turned, without a sound or voice,
No individual to heed the call,
The need for leadership, for hope, the will to make a choice,
To stop us all from taking such a fall,
All the people long for, is a strong and willing hand,
The kind that sounds expressions tough and loud,
The world, it lacks direction, no colour in the sand
No leader who can make the people proud,

It seems that war consumes us, the will to fight and kill,
The feral side of every single man,
It doesn’t have to be this way; we cannot just stay still,
A moment’s all that’s needed, fight we can,
Imagine life that’s peaceful, no guns, no blades, no war,
Just people living life in all its glee,
Then maybe life will prosper, and love will only soar,
But none of this can happen with just me,

So now I call, it’s needed, we all must be as one,
To see this life has changes; moves along,
Together we are flawless, the pain will all be gone,
And living will be like a heartfelt song,
So join, hold hand together, and change the world for good,
Let’s put an end to suffering, to pain,
Then all can reap rewards of life, and live it like they should,
There is no loss, but plenty left to gain.
