Daniel Parker Poems

Confidence is magical; it takes you to new heights,
It gives us all the will to fight a war,
To make our eyes just dazzle, to shine like tiny lights,
To make us have the heart to achieve more,
...

My memories, some sad, some gay,
The glee of times that passed,
It seems that life has had it's say,
And made me come in last,
...

So clean, untouched, so perfect, I take you by the hand,
Your beauty, captivation, set me free,
Thoughts race through my mind, of us, together, in the sand,
Your voice, so gentle, calms me, like the sea,
...

The bitter taste of failure, my goal, it seems, unreached,
The final hurdle trips me, sees me fall,
The message that I lived for, the values that I preached,
They failed me, they did not heed my call,
...

I look upon my figure, in the mirror of my dreams,
The scars across my chest are clear to see,
I sometimes question motives, why go to such extremes,
When clearly you don't feel the same for me?
...

I sit alone, just gazing, above into the sky,
The sun gives out it's heat upon my face,
I look on in amazement as the birds carelessly fly,
...

The chains that hang around me, so heavy and so cold,
The sense of disappointment lies within,
The memories that fill me, the thoughts of times of old,
The challenges of keeping feelings in,
...

I once was asked a question, define the word called love,
The largest feeling one could ever find,
They asked for my depiction, I searched from up above,
And let all of the wonders fill my mind,
...

Take my hand, your safe now, your free from all this pain,
My arms are where you really need to be,
My heart is yours to enter, your love is my domain,
You have the tools, so darling set me free,
...

I can read emotions, they're like an open book,
The words, so clearly etched upon your face,
The utter contemplation, your foundations don't seem shook,
So tell me, just how do I win this race?
...

The hands of time keep moving, the seconds pass us by,
We lose many hours standing still,
Yet time should not be wasted, it only makes you cry,
It drives some men to murder, mame and kill,
...

12.

The wonder that is childhood, the innocence and joy,
The loving nature that the world so needs,
The youthfulness and beauty, a bond you can't destroy,
The love that brings a nation to it's knees,
...

This six string weighs too heavy; it's played its final note,
My passions and my motives seem all gone,
No lyrics come to paper, no songs left to devote,
I've searched for inspiration, yet found none,
...

see all of your beauty, its wonder plain to see,
It captivates me, showers me like rain,
The sparkle of your bright eyes, the smile that sets me free,
The image of you, always in my brain,
...

I look outside my window, and star up to the stars,
I close my eyes, and softly share a thought,
For life is like a sentence, forever behind bars,
For there are darkened lessons to be taught,
...

Tall I stand, so proud, no fear,
The will of many men,
When I speak, the world will hear,
I’m in the lion’s den,
...

I have this weird conundrum, a question I must ask,
Is life a curtain covering the view?
Are words so truly spoken, or feelings do they mask?
I sit and pen this poem, just for you...
...

Time's a perfect healer,
Repairs the soul they say,
Regret's the damage dealer,
The pain's the debt we pay,
...

Only once you're broken,
Can wings be truly spread,
Harsh words must be spoken,
Before kind ones are said,
...

A couple of old pictures, are all that now remain,
Someday I will repay you, I'll carry on your name,
My memories stay with me, I always see your face,
I sit and cry for you sometimes, and that is no disgrace

The Wonders Of Emotion

Confidence is magical; it takes you to new heights,
It gives us all the will to fight a war,
To make our eyes just dazzle, to shine like tiny lights,
To make us have the heart to achieve more,

Beauty is appealing, it captivates the soul,
Just one look can turn a man to dust,
It makes an individual, make love their only goal,
Or are they just confusing it with lust?

Arrogance is deadly; it can tear a man apart,
The love for oneself, true, but at what cost?
The hatred towards others, can blacken any heart,
And only then you’ll realise what’s lost,

Laughter is a blessing; it can cure all but disease,
It simply fills the body and the mind,
Such a great emotion, it can captivate with ease,
It truly is the only of its kind,

Anger is a weapon, that can damage many men,
Not just others, but oneself is too at risk,
Hatred of another, can soon result in ten,
Like musical ambition robbed of the disc,

Emotions, they are plenty, all good, but also bad,
They can motivate, cast happiness and fear,
The only things with power, enough to make you glad,
But also so upset that someone’s near
