The Path I'M Following Poem by Jeremy Williams

That was way back when
I was young, not even ten
I just closed my eyes
Waited for that surprise
It reached my lips
I loved the warm feel
Of my very first kiss

From this path I will not stray
Determined I will find the way
Think I will feel complete
When the person that I meet
Fills my heart with feelings of love
The sort of gift that could only come from above

Waited for a while after that
Completely fell off that track
Though I was looking
I just couldn't find
That one special person
I wanted to call mine
Then the chance did I appear
I hid away in fear

From this path I will not stray
Determined I will find the way
Think I will feel complete
When the person that I meet
Fills my heart with feelings of love
The sort of gift that could only come from above

Who knows when they day will come again
Or even who it is I will find
But I know
I'll be sure right away
That I'll want the person
In my life this time around
Have them there every day
Tell them all I have to say

From this path I will not stray
Determined I will find the way
Think I will feel complete
When the person that I meet
Fills my heart with feelings of love
The sort of gift that could only come from above

But until that day shows it head
I'll not stop searching for the one
Who knows when they will come?
But I'll ready and waiting
That isn't to say
That I can't have some fun along the way
How can I tell the one?
If I don't know they aren't?
