The People I Have To Admire Poem by Francis Duggan

The People I Have To Admire

They love it when their admirers to them drink a toast
The celebrities those who do need fame the most
You never will become the best in the town
If you are not one who does crave for renown
At anything you cannot hope to succeed
If for it in you there's no desire or need
If you feel content with the person you are
On the ladder of success you will never climb far
Though they never will be looked upon as great
The people the masses do not celebrate
Happy with their lot big success they do not desire
Yet these are the people I have to admire
Content in their lot such a wonderful thing
They do not need others their praises to sing.
