The Place Poem by Radley So.

The Place

The air was wrought with pain, a tension filled so deep;
There are only six words that can describe it: 'You always sow what you reap'
A torrent of darkness filled the world, crying, screaming; I never meant it from the start!
But the silence before the storm cannot be altered, when the light bringer is the devil in your heart.

Oh where is this place I want to be, where the cloudy past can't get through to me,
The devil's snare has reached through to me, this place where I truly cannot be;
And now I am here.
They are here.
We are here.

Forever this cycle will unfold, with myriad endless stories never told,
For I shall close my eyes, sprout wings and fly: to the place where I want to be.
Everything is calm, as I try and understand; The future that I desperately want to see.
Promise me, stay true to me, or I shall drown in the sea of me.

Lies forge the root of the problem, Keeping me from that olden place;
Though I probably deserve nothing, than to be axed in the head by a mace.
But when all's said and done, just hand me that golden gun, and I promise i'll set you free!
A torrent of silence filled the world, drifting slowly, sadly, over the dark cloud by the golden tree.

This place for me, I cannot see, the past has roots so deep; (that I cannot possibly sleep ;)
We all have strange tales from the midnight gales but there is none that I will ever keep,
At that point they will say, 'Just have it your way, ' in the end you will sow what you reap.
Now they are here,
But I am there,
We are near, I fear.

The cycle has ended, no words could mend it, and the stories will burst, free.
My eyes are wide open, could this finally be the token, white clouds over the golden tree.
Everything is in flames, as I look back and see; the past has overcome me, from being what I could truly be.
Now I am finally free, drowning in the sea;
The place Where I want to be.
