The Place I Love Poem by winifred thorpe

The Place I Love

Rating: 5.0

high on a hill in the Lakes beside a stream i rest,
The green grass lightly swaying in the place that I love best,
the ripple of the water running thought my hand,
the silence that is golden, now I understand.

why some people go there, and walk among these hills,
you suddenly feel happy, and free from all life's spills,
your trouble's melt like icicles, you find your answers here.

The sky is still and empty and the mist is far away,
time passes - a never ending day,
the peace is so unending your heart is full of hope,
that things will soon be wonderful for all the other folk.

I lay upon your heather, and hold it in my hand,
O lake land hill,
now I understand.
