The Plea For Peace Has Outlived Poem by james watkin

The Plea For Peace Has Outlived

The plea for peace has outlived
Every olive-branch grafted
Onto the Tree Of Good Intentions.
By widows inherited
Is that winged voice, as one howling
Chieftain whips up another
In that season that contorts;
A red blight that snaps under.
